We support those who make a difference

My sister was multi-disabled due to Rett syndrome, a rare neurodevelopmental disorder that affects her motor and cognitive abilities. She was tied to a wheelchair and in no way could fend for herself, which created many challenges for our family. This situation can be hard on both the immediate relatives and the family as a whole, as it takes a tremendous amount of time, energy and resources to adapt to the special needs of a member with a disability. I therefore know that there is a great and important need for help and support to empower and assist people with developmental disabilities as well as their families. It is paramount that we work together to create a more inclusive and supportive community for all unique individuals.

The Plan Children's Fund works actively to support young people aged 13 to 25 in East and West Africa. The organisation focuses on giving these young people access to varying educational offers, attractive apprenticeships, modern technology as well as the opportunity to take out microloans and thus feel inspired to become entrepreneurs.
Particularly important is the action of the Plan Children's Fund for girls in the regions, who often face many obstacles such as being denied schooling, getting married early, being subjected to severe abuse and, in many cases, becoming mothers while still very young. Through their programs, the organization aims to change these unfair circumstances and provide girls with the resources and opportunities they deserve to create a better future for themselves.

We need to put animal welfare on the global agenda, and that's exactly what WSPA is working hard to achieve. WSPA, or the World Society for the Protection of Animals, has efforts and projects in more than 50 different countries around the world, where they actively stop the exploitation and mistreatment of animals in many forms. Their work involves both direct rescue of animals in need as well as educating about the importance of respecting and protecting all wildlife. This is necessary to ensure a more just and compassionate world for our animal friends, and WSPA is on the front lines of this fight.
